Downloading Shrynk is free. Paying is optional and is a one-time $9 license, not a subscription. Buy from inside the app or from soft-sell.com/product/shrynk/pricing.

What you are paying for
Not a new codec. You already have the ConvertET registry and the compressor on Free. Pro lifts the two limits that block real work: file size on compress and more than one file per run.
Activation
Enter the key in the license dialog. The app stores status in a local SQLite database and must reach the license server once to validate. Source files from convert/compress jobs are not part of that request. After a successful activate you can work offline until you deactivate or the stored status expires/invalidates.
If activation fails, check the network and that you pasted the full key. Files on disk are untouched.
Browser vs desktop
The website preview is Free-tier: one still in the canvas, or one WASM compress ≤100MB. It cannot take a Pro key. Unlocking Pro means using the Windows app you already installed.
