Supported formats
Counts below are registered conversion pairs in the current Windows build — the ConvertET registry, not “200 file extensions.” JPG and JPEG are listed as aliases where the image converter treats them as the same codec.
Compress is a separate mode and always writes MP4. It is not a row in these tables. See Video compression.
Video — 42 container pairs + 36 extract-audio pairs
Any of MP4, AVI, MKV, MOV, WebM, FLV, GIF to any other in that list (7×6 = 42). Separately, MP4, AVI, MKV, MOV, WebM, FLV can extract audio to MP3, AAC, WAV, FLAC, OGG, OPUS (6×6 = 36).
| Job | Notes |
|---|---|
| Video → video | Re-encodes. Quality + optional resolution (keep / 1080p / 720p / 480p). |
| GIF ↔ MP4 | Also in the 42. GIF out has fps and width controls. |
| Video → audio | Drops the picture. Lossy audio targets expose bitrate and sample rate. |
Audio — 42 pairs
All-to-all among MP3, AAC, FLAC, OGG, OPUS, M4A, WAV (7×6). Lossy targets: 128 / 192 / 256 / 320 kbps. Sample rate typically 22050 / 44100 / 48000 Hz (OPUS allows a wider set).
Image — raster mesh + SVG + ICO
| Family | Pairs |
|---|---|
| JPEG / JPG / PNG / BMP / WebP / GIF | All-to-all except JPEG↔JPG (same format). Quality when targeting JPEG; optional resize. Decode WEBP is real. Encode to WEBP in this Windows build writes PNG bytes under a .webp name (no VP8 encoder). The browser preview writes a real WebP via canvas. See PNG to WEBP. |
| SVG → PNG, JPEG, JPG, BMP, WebP, GIF, ICO | Width / height / background (transparent, white, black). |
| PNG, JPEG, JPG, BMP, WebP, GIF → ICO | Single size 16–256 or a multi-size icon. |
The browser Convert tab is a short stills allowlist (not this full mesh): WEBP→JPG/PNG, PNG↔JPG, PNG/JPG→WEBP, GIF→PNG, SVG→PNG. No ICO, no BMP, no animated GIF out.
Data
| Pair | Options |
|---|---|
| JSON ↔ CSV | Delimiter: comma, semicolon, tab. CSV→JSON uses the first row as keys. |
| JSON ↔ YAML / YML | No extra options. |
| JSON ↔ XML | Structured round-trip, not a pretty-printer for broken markup. |
| TOML ↔ JSON; TOML ↔ YAML / YML | Config-file interchange. |
| TXT → TXT | Encoding: auto / UTF-8 / GBK / GB2312 → UTF-8 / GBK / GB2312. |
Document
| Pair | What you get |
|---|---|
| Markdown / MD → HTML | Optional embedded default CSS. |
| Markdown / MD → DOCX | Headings, lists, code blocks for Word. Not a full Pandoc replacement. |
There is no PDF → DOCX and no DOCX → Markdown in this product.
Ebook (Calibre required)
| From | To |
|---|---|
| EPUB, MOBI, AZW3 | Each other; also TXT, RTF, PDF |
| TXT, RTF, FB2 | EPUB, MOBI, AZW3, PDF |
| EPUB | Markdown and HTML (dedicated converters, no Calibre for those two) |
| Markdown / HTML | EPUB |
If Calibre is missing, ebook cards that need ebook-convert stay unavailable. EPUB ↔ Markdown / HTML still work.
Why the site says “200+”
Add the meshes: video 42 + extract-audio 36 + audio 42 + image all-to-all + SVG + ICO + data + document aliases + ebook routes. The live app’s format grid is the authority — this page matches the Go registry, not a marketing round-up of “we support PDF” when we only write PDF from ebooks.
